I just ran a test, turning the power off and then back on the tv, the audio then appeared again.

Turns out i forgot the semi colon at the end of the package name in the java file.and the logcat tool worked great, was able to isolate the cause of the problem and now my controller input works fine with the game. Thanks for the tip.
