I tried what you said. While configured to use x86, using "-qemu -disable-kvm" does allow it to get to the Android screen (rather than black), however it still doesn't get past that.

I've been on Holiday for a week so I haven't had chance to try this until now. I've just tried it, but I'm still getting a black screen. If I change to ARM rather than Intel Atom (X86) it loads even with 1024MB RAM.
