This is probably their implementation of a deadzone. In any case, it actually looks really tight, and in practice probably not very noticeable. Someone should try using it in practice (perhaps to drive a character around or …

We are continuing to work through these issues- and again, we appreciate your help in determining and resolving them. For lag issues, any persistent issues should be fixed through future software updates (downloaded to your OUYA). …
As far as I know, you need to store the UUID yourself. I personally wish the Ouya would handle this so we can better tell if someone switches accounts, but I'm guessing this functionality isn't big on their list.
What does 72 res mean? Are you saying pixels per inch? If so, that number does not have any relevance outside of printing.
The Ouya has a bit of a fill rate issue. If these textures you're drawing are on multiple triangles each covering most of s…
Assuming the character isn't taking up the entire screen... 380k poly's is definitely multiple poly's per pixel. You wouldn't be able to see any of that extra detail.
Unfortunately a great many Retail Ouya's have the problem (and its actually worse). I have both a Dev and Retail and tested both. Check my post.
I am glad however that they are replacing the bad Retail Ouya controllers upon request. (Which I will b…
I took a screenshot of the controller output. It's very segmented. I've tried both the dev controller and the final hardware, they both look pretty much the same.
Maybe they feel different about NDK support, but they're honestly not showing any love for it at all. They've been exceptionally quiet about NDK controller support among other things.
The Ouya can get glitchy sometimes. Try restarting it and see if that fixes the issue.
When I first was working on the keyboard showing it would never show, but restarting the console fixed it. More recently the Ouya was having serious issues usin…
If you are a NDK game, the steps are pretty simple. EMUya for example is written in a text editor without Eclipse. I spent a lot of time trying to get Eclipse to work and eventually just gave up on it. Maybe I'll try again some day, but if your like…

Hell no! That stuff is part of the problem and what makes discovering stuff on the Apple and Android stores really hard. It makes the whole thing just a competition to get into those few coveted spots and when you have th…

Yes it is a loss if they never get passed the wardens, but overall Ouya will profit greatly. 30% is a huge revenue cut for providing a platform. They will be rollin in the dough so to speak. I think they can afford being a bit altruistic here.
A bet…
I'd personally prefer if they just weren't shown or dimmed so you get a hint they aren't functional.
Of course if they renamed it to "step to the right/left", R2 would have to be synonymous with the "O" button and L2 would be mostly synonymous with …
I regrettably have avoided trying to figure out every little step to get GDB debugging to work with the NDK. I instead have printf debug'd my code, old-school style.
While I don't think its right to make a decision of whether or not that 30% is fair, I do believe that 30% while acceptable now, its just because other people are doing it the same. This 30% everywhere will eventually be unacceptable as soon as the …

Where do they get the money from to do reviews and what-not?
"Here is a crazy idea.... Credit card companies only take a couple percent... What if we took 30% of all revenue!" - Ouya
Thats how they get their money. ;)
Whenever we release an update, it usually takes 2-3 days at most. I don't think we've had an update take longer than 3 days before they've either accepted or denied it.
Charging for developing for the platform is a bad idea IMO. It separates people into haves and have-nots, and as a matter of principal, I don't like that.
It also means there is no longer equal opportunity. Even if the charge is small. But if the c…
We have developed our own analytics solution and have seen similar issues. On a ratio of over 20 to 1, Ouya is reporting many downloads but very few people seem to be launching the game (even once). For example, yesterday we've had more people dow…
I'm another developer. I wanted to add that for a very long time we couldn't get it to show. Even in the sample apps the keyboard wouldn't pop up. What we eventually did was restart the console and the keyboard started working. We never figured …
