My Fan Doesn't Turn On

Does anyone else's fan turn on or is mine busted? Mine doesn't spin at all. Is it triggered by temperature or should it just be on (or not)?

    I noticed the same; the fan is not running while the system is on, can someone confirm if the fan is triggered by temperature? (and what's the threshold?)

    The fan came on! I had my game running in the background for a few hours and the fan came on, and is still on. Must be a temperature threshold. Personally I'd rather it just run always, I didn't even notice when it turned on, and my game's volume is all the way down.

    What advantage is there with the fan always running? Seems to me like it would only increase noise and power usage.

    To keep it cooler, I assume that would increase the lifespan of the hardware (except the fan). Also, the cooler you keep it, the more overclocked you can run it, of course, they may have hit the limit on that already, I don't know.

    If the processor getting hot, it will lower the performance, especially for the GPU.

    A long time ago Julie told me it was at 2GHz, so I can only imagine with the addition of a fan it may be even faster. What's a good benchmarking tool for Android, someone should run that and give us a status report :)

    there's a lot of rumor about the case not having any vents for the air flow, could you guys clarify that?

    There are tons of slats on the bottom of the case, and some around the edge of the top. It's quite open actually.
