2-player shooter 2 Hando Commando on the OUYA store for testing!

I posted up my latest build of 2 Hando Commando on the OUYA store (link to devlog about the release). If you've got a devkit and a buddy, try it out! It's still really early, but it's about 4x as good as my original OUYACreate entry (unfortunately, haha).

It's a 1v1 game where each player controls a pair of guys at the same time, one with each thumbstick.

There are four weapons to choose from and each one plays slightly differently in controls and strategy. I've got a nice tutorial on my list of things to do along with moving from splitscreen to single overhead cam (to allow for bigger maps), and I'll be improving it over time. I'm also planning on adding in online multiplayer, seeing how there are going to be tons of people with an OUYA and only one controller.

If you try it out, let me know what you think! This is still a prototype, but it's definitely moving along. :)

I downloaded this and checked it out with a friend. The controls and gameplay are great so far. It is one of my favorite prototypes on the store.

We were experimenting a little and it seems like the rifleman character can get in a position to miss even if all players are standing still. Maybe the aiming is off just a little bit? It seems like units don't respawn if you get killed, but it might be nice to get a couple respawns.

    Nice job!

I finally managed to play this with my wife for a bit last Thursday! We had fun and it's promising but here're my critiques:

Right now I feel like the two-dudes strategizin' doesn't come into play as often as it could; possibly  because of the simple level design of the demo levels or just our relative noobness. Objectives could help but I can see that conflicting with the current last man standing format. Definitely looking forward to the bigger levels and one-screen gameplay :).

The damage dealt by the rocket dude seemed to vary between players (that's my excuse :P!) and I wish the shield guy felt more capable of actually blocking bullets since he's so very slow. The heavy's rocket aiming was pretty awkward and I think simplifying it to just be "point the stick where you want to shoot" would be a lot easier on the player.

Thanks for trying it out, @nimble_gorilla and @Tyrus! The feedback is much appreciated. :D

I've had a few friends playtest nearby and I usually don't see strategy develop until they've played it several times. I'm okay with that, but I have a nice sketchbook full of powerups and other weapon ideas that will make things more interesting. :)
