Agreed... some really great entries. I wouldn't have stood a chance... lol. Had to focus on my own things.
Aggro Tactics - A tactical strategy virtual board game built with Unity3D 4.0, designed around the concept of Threat/Aggro inspired by the mechanics of chess and a customizable party like in table top games.
Out of the 165 entries, 70 of those games would not start or the controller input would not work. And I'm glad we did those support sessions so that everybody got a chance for the judges to play their games!
I know there was a previous Unity DX11 contest and it's good to see some repeat entries to showcase your work!
@tgraupmann any way folks can figure out if their entry failed due to technical issues? As near as I can tell SUPER ROBOT SPACE FIGHT! should've run fine for the judges, but I'd still feel better knowing that.

Me too. I had it up and running on the OUYA great... but submission was such a black hole. I'd be a little consoled if I knew for sure that someone actually played my game.
I already have a dev kit, and I'm already going to the launch party... so while I'm bummed about not being a finalist, moving forward in the competition probably meant more to some of the finalists chosen.

70 would not work? That means there was only 95 legit entries and 40 finalist nominations (although of course some games took up multiple). With those odds, I feel even worse for not being included >_<
Good for them tho. Hope I get a chance to play these finalists for myself soon. Until then, back to work.
Wow, 70. And here I thought I was the only one :D (well, not literally, but I didn't expect that many). Luckily one of the users here helped me to discover a problem with input (I don't have OUYA dev-kit so I couldn't test myself) and I could send the fixed build.
I think it's very nice of the team that they gave people chance to fix these issues, otherwise not having the dev-kit would be quite a disadvantage.
It was exciting to be involved, we did Goldilocks and the 3000 Bears - our OUYA videos are here: www.youtube.com/fayjugames
It helped us progress our other games and we certainly fell in love with the OUYA through the process.
I was disappointed did get through. I know ours ran on an OUYA because we have one here, no idea if the apk i sent through worked :0) would be nice to know.
Our game was riddled with bugs and was unfinished, some of those games that got through looked a lot more finished and polished that ours did. We are a two man team and in retrospect it was our first Jam so perhaps we should have focused more on making a finished product ... but thats not really how we do things at Fayju.
But we will be at GDC PLAY on Kiosk 69 and we will our 3 games in Development
Amazing Frog
Cascade
Goldilocks and the 3000 Bears
on the OUYA there (if the dev console still works lol - I asked if they had any spare as backup they said no :0/ eek)
The dev was hectic but I gotta say thanks (should have said it much earlier) to tgraupmann and Hashbanggames for really getting us rolling on the OUYA in Unity you guys are HEROS and deserve an OUYA award of some description, hopefully catch up with you guys at GDC
I am interested to see who won the best unity game award.
