OUYA on GDC 2013?

Hello OUYAs!

I was wondering if OUYA is coming to GDC? I found out recently that I'm going to fly all the way across the ocean and the USA to attend GDC and it would be great to talk with all (or some) of the Boxer8 team and other developers about OUYA! A once in a lifetime opportunity I would say (even though I hope I will do this more often :p).

In this thread: general OUYA-GDC talk + an answer from Boxer8 (I hope!) + will you be at GDC?

    I remember hearing someone say there will be a GDC launch party for OUYA, but I can't remember where I heard it.

    That's great! I did not back the kickstarter though (didn't know about OUYA untill a few weeks ago :/), so I probably won't be invited to that. But if they're there they might be on the expo floor too? Will check the GDC website for that.
    Would make sense to create some more press by being at GDC, right around launch.

    The launch party is for elite developers or higher ($1337+) and will likely be invite only. It is happening March 28 during GDC. Whether boxer 8 will have a booth at GDC i don't know, but I'm betting they will be in attendance.

    I thought so, understandable ;).
    It would be nice to meet some of the Boxer8 people outside of the launch party. GDC will rule any way :)!

    The OUYA team will be there for sure, do not worry... And the OUYA console will be running on our booth at GDC for the week - we will showcase Yummy Circus running on it in 4 players mode with 4 controllers. Feel free to come and say hi!

    When it gets closer we'll have to compile a list of all of the OUYA presence at GDC so I don't miss any of it :)

    Yeah, a meetup outside of the launch party would be great! I'm going to the party but I'd love to meet everybody who's working on Ouya games.

    I was contemplating doing a hackathon / meet-up for Ouya around GDC. Wednesday may or may not work for me, though (Tuesday seems more likely). It's a good thing I looked here -- I didn't realize there was already going to be a launch party for the console. :)

    Yeah, there will be a launch for those backers that backed $1337+. If you did, you'd probably be invited. Otherwise come to the Unofficial launch party! :D

    It would be interesting to do the dev meetup after the launch party so we can show off some swag or whatever Boxer8 is giving us at the official launch party (March 28) :D

    Sure, but on the last day? Think Wednesday would be better for most people, for me atleast. It's not like you guys aren't going to post pictures and video's of this serious swag :P! We can all drool over the chance we missed digitally xD!

    Great! I hope we can find a good hotel near the convention center, so we don't have to travel alot after the mixers and meetups :P. Probably wouldn't be too nice!
    If anyone lives close and has some free space that he would like to rent, lemme know ;) (if it has WiFi :P). Just kidding ;).

    There's usually some GDC wrap parties or similar - Notch is doing another ".party()", so in all liklihood, the Friday is going to be full of events.
    Wednesday sounds good to me and we'll be out there!

    Any idea on location/time/etc?

    I think all official stuff ends at 18.00 so after that would probably be the most convenient for everyone!

    We have to consider which time on Wednesday, as the Independent Game Awards are held that night (untill 8.30 I think). Also the Game Developers Award I think. I guess a lot of people here would want to go there?

    Yes. Wednesday is a no go for us.... IGF/GDA is a must to attend to.
