Performance issues

Has anyone run into performance issues on the ouya with your apps or games just yet?

Ive got 4-5 demos running at about 60 fps on an android phone (lg optimus g) which is similar in specs to the ouya and ive got no issues. Whenever i run them on the ouya i seem to take a 15-20 fps hit right off the bat for no reason it seems... Im quite stumped.....

There's a difference in the processor being used. Your phone has a Snapdragon S4 Pro while the OUYA has a Tegra3 T33. That alone is enough to give a difference in performance. By chance are you using Unity to make your game? If so, have you tried using Tegra texture comperssion?

Not using unity unfortunately. I'm using gamemaker right now at the moment but seems im not the only person to experience this hit in performance. I Understand the processor may be a bit more powerfull but still the T33 should be overclocked and sitting around 2.0-2.4 ghz i would guess from what i've seen in threads here.

Ive also seen a post with another member here having the same issue and i dont think they're running the same dev setup or using the same software.  i am compiling for version 16 however..

Not sure if anyone found the actual clock speed, but the bogomips was 1993, but that's not a clock speed :D

GameMaker eh? Did you get the OUYA controller working?!

Yessir! To an extent... im missing the right thumbstick, o and a buttons as well as left and right triggers but the rest works perfectly fine.   But for the game im writing now, i can barely get by with the ones that do work.

@jtn0514 so it is like a NES controller / N64 controller mule (or liger, or tigon) at this point then, hey still cool :)
