If you have a face and are human, introduce yourself here! Are you a seasoned game developer, an aspiring indie, a student? Maybe the founder of your own gaming studio? Tell us about some of your interesting past projects. What are you building for the OUYA console?
I'm Head of Engineering at OUYA, leading the team that's developing the console software, the ODK, and the web portals. My background is in game development for PCs and consoles - I led the engineering teams for 2011's MMO "RIFT" as well as many generations of EA Sports' Tiger Woods Golf for Playstation 1, PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. I got my start years ago in the Macintosh shareware game community, and my game Tetris Max was very popular back around 1995. I'm also an electronics hacker on random personal projects involving chips and circuit boards. My custom-designed and hand-built CPU "Big Mess o' Wires" (
http://www.bigmessowires.com/bmow1/) was covered in Wired a few years back and won Editor's Choice at the Maker Faire, so I'm handy with a soldering iron or oscilloscope.

Very excited to be here and looking forward to seeing the amazing things that people will do with the OUYA console!
I'm Drew, partner with Ryan in Reactor Interactive, and I am currently the producer / art director / artist for Sector 13. We are very excited about the Ouya Project and its potential. We very much look forward to being a part of this developer program and Ouya's success. I hope you'll check our project out and let us know what you think.
I've been involved with Android since it's public launch, have code commits in Googles Android Open Source Project as well as working with a number of companies on their Android apps and strategy, and I'm looking forward making Android for the OUYA console the most gamer friendly version of Android currently around.

I'm Alberto with Adventure Works. I'm really excited to join the Ouya developer community. My background in games started back in the mid 90's working on PC space combat simulation titles. I worked on Star Wars X-Wing Collector's Series, X-Wing Alliance, and Star Trek Bridge Commander.
Since then I've worked on mobile apps on Android and have recently returned to game development partnering with my friend Jeff on Adventure Works. We're currently working on a game called The Traveler, a 2D sci-fi space roguelike in Unity. We're targeting the Ouya, PC and Mac platforms and are really excited about seeing this game come together and launch on a console.
It's great to see there are others working in Unity and I hope to learn and share with you all as we move forward with our games. You can follow us on our Facebook page at

My team is currently planning to bring Saturday Morning RPG to the Ouya at launch. We've already released the game on iOS and can't wait to bring it to other platforms! For those who haven't heard Saturday Morning RPG is an episodic JRPG set firmly in a world inspired by 1980's Saturday morning cartoons.
We're currently working on a stealth/action platformer that will hopefully see a demo around OUYA's launch :)
Just kidding, I'm just happy to see that other game developers really do exist in the area :)
I believe I've also seen you very actively on /r/ouya, and we appreciate that!
I've been a programmer in the gaming industry for 13 years, mostly concentrating on handheld game systems (GBC, GBA, DS) followed by mobile gaming. Most of what I've worked on has been licensed titles, ranging from Harry Potter (on GBC) to Lego Bionicle (on GBA) to Star Wars (Jakks game-in-a-joystick). And on mobile I've worked on both licensed and original titles - I worked on the early iPhone Atari classics, but also games like Chimps Ahoy! (breakout with two paddles) and Dungeon Solitaire (card game with simple battles). Up until the last year I've always used proprietary game engines, but for the last year I've been using Unity (currently licensed for Unity 4).
Right now I'm working on Dreamzle's first game, an OUYA-exclusive launch title, basically a skewed 3/4 overhead spaceship shooter with Zelda-style exploration.
My name is Hugo Peters (as my nickname implies), I am 16 years old (I turned 16 today actually, and what better gift than the OUYA ODK...
I am currently working on a game called The Runthrough. It is a sidescroller / platformer, where your goal is to survive. It is extremely simple, just jump on the blocks, and not on the red spikes. HOWEVER, this is extremely hard. It is very addictive and I hope I can help making OUYA a big success. Here is a work in progress video if anyone is interested:
We are a few friends lovers of the old 2d arcade game mechanics, and we create open source games. Some of them are remakes/tributes, like PiX Bros which is a mix between Bubble Bobble, Snow Bros and Tumble Pop.
I would like to start developing arcade or adventure games!
I need to learn a bit more programming ,but at designing I'am a professional. So all I need is an OUYA dev console and start developing...
I'm Jerrod Putman, and I am the owner of Tiny Tim Games. We've released a couple of games for iOS, and are now looking forward to making some games specifically targeted toward Ouya!
I've been in game development for over 10 years now, and I've worked with companies such as Insomniac Games (on the Ratchet & Clank franchise) and inXile entertainment. I'm hoping to bring some of my AAA know-how to indie game development, and make the games that players want to play but that no one makes anymore.
I just got my first sample app up and running through the Ouya launcher on my Nexus 7. I'm looking forward to getting my dev console soon!
I can't wait to get my hands on the OUYA, I really truly believe that it is the next big thing.
I look forward to working with all of you in the future, I hope together we'll be able to collaborate to create one of the best communities around.
Good luck with your projects, and I'll see you in the forums!
I'm Leonardo Molar, Art and Technical Director at Studio Kontrabida (http://kontrabida.ca)
We're planning on bringing over our first game, Rival Threads: Last Class Heroes, a stunning 2D side scrolling RPG, to the Ouya.
(Image from an earlier mobile build, will not look like this on Ouya.)

Excited to see where this goes. Good luck Team Ouya!
I look forward to developing for the Ouya and taking the experience I gain into a professional career. It's gotta look good on a resume, no? :D
I have little by way of completed projects so far, although I find myself suited towards making game dev tools, more so than the games themselves. So it is my hope that even if I am not able to finish an actual game, I can find a niche in game centered tools. (On-console development could be an attractive concept to newer developers)
Although, that does assume there will be a marketplace area for tools and general apps (not too far fetched an idea) as well as the feasibility/popularity of developing on-console.
Projects:
Daemons - An RPG game [Development in progress]
MindF*** - My own custom dialect of BrainF***
System Crash - A simple 2D arcade-style shooter [In Alpha-Beta... One of the two]

I'm Mark a student and aspiring game developer.
OUYA is a dream coming true, creating my own games that can be played on my T.V. screen!
Currently working on a 3D Puzzle Platformer game in my spare time.
My name is Ben Cartwright and I'm the owner of a small company called Paradigm Softworks. At the moment we're making a couple of games for Mac and PC and we plan to port them over to OUYA as soon as possible (though probably from launch day, since we don't have a dev console).
In my spare time I'm involved with model aircraft and tinkering with an Arduino board, the products of which I'm currently developing as a product with the goal of getting a patent on my designs for a golf ball putting practice machine.
Currently we're mostly working on our project Retroformer, a 2D puzzle/platformer with emphasis on it's level generation features: you can upload images to be turned into levels, or use the built in editor, and we're adding features to change the very aesthetics of the levels too!
You can also find us on Twitter, FaceBook, YouTube and SoundCloud.
I'm James Coote, developing android games for my own one man studio, Crystalline Green Ltd. I've been developing my own 3D graphics engine for android, and will be optimising it for the Ouya over the coming months.
I'm working on an Ouya exclusive game that I hope to have ready for launch in March. (Going to 'announce' the details come the new year).
I'm also organising a meetup of developers and fans of Ouya in London on the 24th January. Any developers who want to come down and show off their games at the event (whether they have a console yet or not) are welcome! You can get hold of me on twitter @JamesACoote or email [email protected]
