We thought we'd share our progress from the first day with OUYA. It's a generic Android build, and making the game run on the console required only a few modifications. :)
So, here's Jarkka and OUYA in the game corner of our office.
Looks gorgeous and polished... love the art style.
If you need testers at all, I'm available via PM me to pass the .apk. I can't do anything with my OUYA until my Unity trial license gets extended... lol. So I've just been playing around with the system and pushing apps/games to test them on the OUYA.

Aggro Tactics - A tactical strategy virtual board game built with Unity3D 4.0, designed around the concept of Threat/Aggro inspired by the mechanics of chess and a customizable party like in table top games.
Thanks for you comments and support. We've long ago noticed that the social media is a strange environment, and that angry Internet mobs can form at the drop of a hat and are really hard to control. It looks like there's quite a lot of angst towards OUYA in a specific group of elitist gamers / techies, so it's quite simple to nitpick certain unimportant aspects of things.
Overall Roasty Rooster running on OUYA has gotten a decent amount of media coverage and we're quite happy with it - even if some of it is a bit dismissive or negative. In any case, at this point we wouldn't have been in a position to convert any of the publicity into sales since neither OUYA nor our game have been released yet, so I'd say all publicity is good publicity. :)
As far as beta testing the OUYA version of the game goes, I don't think we're quite there yet. There's some work to be done with the controls and optimization, but as soon as we feel like there's nothing obvious to improve we'll be looking at doing some outside testing. I'll keep you posted. :)
Looking forward to it. The sooner you can get it into peoples hands the better. Especially fellow devs that understand how the dev process works and understand when you say, that is in the pipeline.
Best of luck going forward.

The majority of their arguments against the OUYA are completely unfounded, curse word littered tirades about a device they have not seen, let alone tried, in real life.
They say it will overheat - so what is the ventilation for?
They say the games are poor quality - not one game is out for OUYA yet.
They say they could do the same with their phones - never mind the expense of buying a phone above an OUYA...
I think the idea is to ignore those self-righteous little twerps and get working on one's product. All they are doing is raging on Youtube like idiot preteens whilst we get on with the adult world of game development... ;)
yes, looks very fun! (great work on smoke trails and sounds too!!) about the youtube dislikes, I doubt that Ouya gamers would react the same ( googlePlay and Ios are pretty decent in terms of comments and ratings) hopefully, OuyaLive is'nt going to be a kind of angry xboxlive with players insulting each other and stuff, posting a game doesn't harm anybody ...

I actually think because of the concept behind the OUYA catering to the indie genre it really won't be as bad. A lot of the community will be developers themselves and a lot will be people who appreciate the indie scene. I think overall I'd predict a relatively friendly environment.

Hey, does this use Unity? If so, how does mouse input work on the OUYA? I notice those menus are Touchpad/Mouse driven. I didn't manage to get a dev kit, so I can't find out for myself T^T
You didn't remember the plot of the Doctor Who movie because there was none; Just a bunch of plot holes strung together.
It's all about the vocal minority. Our attitude causes them jealousy and stress. The Call of Duty fans and their bad attitudes are equivalent to Justin Bieber fans shouting that if it's not a boy band it's garbage.
Great game, i can see a lot of work has gone in already! :) is seems the game lags up, loading the first explosion at 0:41, but that could just be me imagining things.
Can't find aapt.exe? Temp fix: Copy another one from 'android_sdk/build-tools/17.0.0' back to your 'platform-tools' -=Hicsy=- PM meFacebook
Thanks again for the nice comments. We are in fact aware of the frame rate issues (as the Youtube angry mob so kindly pointed out, again and again) and I'm sure they'll be fixed before we launch the game.
It took about an hour after unboxing to get the game to run on Ouya (which included finding an appropriate power source, hooking the console up to the TV, figuring out how to use the controllers and downloading and installing the latest firmware). So not much at all. Then we spent another hour or so making the controls work on joysticks rather than touch - of course the controls aren't nearly perfected yet, which is apparent in the video as well. The mouse cursor that sometimes pops up in the video can be controlled with the Ouya controller's touch pad (which I think is a pretty neat feature) - though I think the final version will not have mouse control at all. Like I said, we were just making a quick video to prove that games actually run on the thing.
The game is made with Unity3D, so everything on the screen is 3D, even though the style is more akin to a 2D arcade. The bitmap fonts are done using our SpriteText Unity plugin, which enables you to use nice textured bitmap fonts in your 3D scenes:

Don't listen to their brainless twittering... :) It looks great.
