It's in the Marketplace Agreement (you can re-read that in your "Developer Info" by clicking on your user name from the main devs.ouya.tv page), Section 7:Payments and Reporting. Your game must earn $150 or more, and then the payments come every 30 days, after the month in which the money was earned.
It means they won't ever give you any amount of money below $150. If you need a deposit every two months, your game must earn $150 every two months. Apple does the same with their app store, I think the amount is $100 for them.
"7. Payments and Reporting. Subject to the terms of this section, we will pay you
Proceeds approximately 30 days after the end of the calendar month in which the
applicable sale to the end user is made
...
If we pay you for a sale in a currency other than the currency in which the sale was
made, we will convert the Proceeds from the currency in which the sale was made to
the payment currency at an exchange rate that we or our bank determine, which may
include fees and charges for the conversion. We are entitled to accrue and withhold
payments, without interest, until the total amounts due to you (net of any tax withholding,
as further described below) exceed the minimum payment threshold of one hundred
fifty dollars ($150.00)."
Interesting. My game sold 144 copies at $2 a pop during the month of June; after Ouya's 30% cut that comes to $201.60 that I should have earned for June, and which I expected to see deposited on August 1st... yet I've seen nothing.
I've accepted the marketplace agreement and provided my bank account info, but haven't seen any payment or received any email about payments.
Has anyone else seen money yet, or know why I wouldn't have received anything yet?
I don't think I've received the money yet either. I haven't checked the bank account, but I haven't received/gained access to any report of the payment like the Marketplace Agreement says I should.
"At the time of payment, we will make available to you a report detailing sales of In-Application Products and corresponding Proceeds."
I'm not in any specific rush to get the report/money... but some word on it being worked on or some kind of expected time frame it would be completed in would be very much appreciated.
I get the impression that it's sending by mail, FOR now. I imagine I was in a relative minority of devs who had made over $150 before July 1st; hopefully by the time the second round of checks go out (for money made during July), they'll have all this automated, and done via wire transfer. I certainly hope so.
I've read the agreement, and I'm not sure I'm clear on one point. Is a cheque disbursed at $150 before OUYA's cut or $150 after OUYA's cut? I know, for example Apple uses $150 (or did they lower it?) and it is before their cut but the wording in the agreement had me leaning towards it being after the cut on OUYA.
I understand now that we should get paid on or near the first of a month for the "month before last", as long as you meet some minimum sales balance.
For example, my game was released late in May. It made a little bit of money. On the first of July, I'm eligible for my May monthly payment, but didn't meet the minimum. On the first of August, I'm eligible for my June payment, and did indeed receive a paper check in the mail (handwritten by Julie Uhrman!) for the May/June balance. On the first of September, I'm expecting a check to cover July sales...
So they can hold on to your monies indefinitely if your balance sits at less than $150? Doesn't that mean people that make an unpopular title will never get a paycheck and likewise, developers will never receive their last paycheck, unless their final sale puts them at exactly $150?
