Importing Animation From Maya

Unity has got to be dumbest program out there when it comes to importing animations.

I keep exporting FBX files to unity.

But when they get to unity the character doesn't move.

I made a cylinder and put 3 bones in it
put and IK handle
Smooth binded it
animated 20 frames ( keyframes )

selected everything ( using the outlines )

Baked
Exported as FBX

Brought it to dumb unity

and it just shakes.

I can bring stupid animations like rotating a wheel, opening a door

but as soon as I put bones in something it just doesn't work.
what a dumb program.

Unity is so far behind unreal engine.

    Never mind, I got it.

Yes.. what a comprehensible way to bring in animations it only took a few million tutorials to
decipher how to bring bring animations into unity.

For those who are coming from another platform to develop in unity...
You first export the mesh with the bones
    and you bake the animation
    and export.

yes you need to bake the animation in maya. otherwise it doesn't work.
