Hey there Ouya, I am working on this platform retro style game. The game is being developed using multimedia fusion an application similar to game maker.
It's a somewhat rip off of the old mario, sonic and adventure island; but unique enough to be its own game. I'll be uploading a demo soon. This is the first screen shot.
looking good mate and brilliant to have a fellow MMF'er to the forum even if you did think i was a racist lol. Id ditch the gradium back drop as it doesn't work to great, instead how about going for background you have made with a plain one colour backdrop, i'm guessing you have used a quick backdrop.
Another question, have you used a custom static engine? Keep us the good work.
racist ahahhahaa. funny stuff. Yes I am using a quick backdrop for now. I might have the background on a different layer. I'm not sure how layers behave on the ouya yet. I am using the a flaform object to get that mario 3 feel.
The flatform object works really good, saves time too. I found some good examples on another clicker's site.
no it actually comes with multimedia fusion 2. it's an extension by clickteam. Ya, actually most extensions work with the android export module. I was even thinking taking all my game factory games and give them a quick makeover and put them on the Ouya. There are tons of people out there with old TGF games.. some of those games are actually preaty good.
Indie games on pc, yes, true, a lot of those smaller games are always in flash game websites. like addictive games and others. New grounds launched Castle Crashers on xbox360.
Super Painter Bros I would say exclusive. The question is do we have any intensive from ouya to release more exclusives?
So you are making your game in Multimedia Fusion? The karamagedom game.
or are you working with any other game engine?
I have been looking at all the game engines, that Corona looks promising and game maker looks... ok.
I dono about that monogame thingy.
I am telling you man Mutimedia Fusion is the easiest way to put a game together. I say if you have all your graphics ready to go you could do a full game in two days.
I could put together a mini game in a couple of hours with MMF2
Yeah all in Multimedia Fusion 2 but we also use sketch up Pro for 3D models. It can be nice and quick to make things yeah but I got big game feaver lol.
My game has around 20 cars and will have 6-7 environments, all having to be designed in 3D so It's a monster of a game. The games vehicle handling engine has taken around 2 years to get right
I don't mind game maker, very good for making scrolling shoot em ups.
sounds good. Making models I gotta say Maya is probably the best way to go, isn't sketchup pro a free google 3d editor? I know I started with 3D studio Max a while back ago. now it's renamed to 3DSMax.
So you are using a DirectX object for the 3D models or are you just going to make sprites?
I can't get to grips with the usual 3D modelling program's like 3D Studio Max so always used sketch up from time to time, no the pro version is something you pay for as my artist has it. Sketch up is for buildings primarily but that's what I'm using it for anyway.
I'm actually making sprites from the 3D models because as you know MMF doesn't do 3D really. It's a lot of messing about but I like the 3D look with 2D sprites.
