Update much?

Is there any reason I'm on 1.0.138-r1 and my console won't detect the many updates available? I would flash the update myself, but I can't adb with my device after downgrading.

It's possible you cached part of a previous update, but you didn't get the update.  Go to the advanced settings and clear your cache, but more likely you'll need to do a factory reset.

But can I do that without entering recovery, because I'm not able to do that anymore either?

I factory data reset the console from the settings, and it still won't detect any updates. This is very troublesome :/

Can you provide a logcat of the output that happens when you select Manage / System / System Updates?  This is not an issue we've seen before, very strange.

Definitely. And I'm sorry for having such a newb question, but where can I find the log file?

That'll require you to adb connect the unit to your pc via the micro-usb cable.

Are you absolutely sure you're not on 1.0.328 firmward?  In the meantime it might also be worth doing a more sever reset.  Go to Advanced settings and perform a Backup & Reset there.  After rebooting the unit it should catch the update.  If it doesn't go to Manage/System/System Update and if that still doesn't work back out to main OUYA menu (Play, Discover, Make, Manage).

I will try that second part since I can't adb. Just a sec...

The Ouya tries to connect to Windows in the first part of the reset with the small "ou" logo, but once the main "OUYA" screen appears, it disconnects again :/ It still won't catch the update either.

Interestingly, if I leave the OUYA plugged in to my PC after the update, in "Notifications" it will say "Connected as a media device" and "USB debugging connected", but it the OUYA does not appear anywhere in device manager or adb console. And then, if I unplug my OUYA and plug it back in without re-running the system wipe, nothing will show up in "Notifications", which leads me to believe that there is something critically wrong with the firmware, or the way it was installed.

You very well could have a bum OUYA on your hands.  We put the OTA (over the air) update testing through the wringer more than anything else.  Are you using ethernet or wi-fi?  If wi-fi can you try ethernet?

I'm on Ethernet. I've tried with WiFi as well.
