Publish then Update? Or Add New Game

spilthspilth Posts: 17Member
I submitted an app and it was approved. I haven't published it yet.

I made some bug fixes and updates to improve the app and would like to publish the fixed version - it really feels ready to go live now.

There's no way to update the APK for my currently approved game and I haven't published it yet.

Should I publish it and then submit an update to it? Or should I just click Add A Game and submit the update version separately?

(I also want to update the screenshots)

There are user workflow issues here with ouya developer console. :)

Recommendation would be to publish and then publish the update to your app like you mentioned.

Google Play Store is a good example of how a developer console should be and hopefully ouya team will update this area that badly needs updating. You have to download csv files to review downloads and purchases. Cant wait till they make improvements all around to the developer console.

If they are lacking in use cases, here is one we run into similar to yours:

    Use Case 1:
Developer realizes they forgot something in app description and have to wait till apk submission is approved.

    Actual Results:
Once approved, developer has to go through entire process again just to update app description.

    Expected Results:
Developer can edit app description at any time.

We have a task to fix your issue spilth.  For now you can publish and then submit an update for review, or we can reject the approved version so you can update and submit for review.  Let me know which way you prefer.

    Thank you, Piers.

Can you reject the approved version, please? I would prefer to push out the improved version as the first version.

I would've have happily waited until Monday. I didn't intend any emergency or impatience in my question.

But thank you for taking care of it so quickly!
