Edit: Paypal payments to developers, instead of bank accounts. (Sorry I had forgot this part)
I just don't like too much of the brazilian banks, they don't even have an iban number, and the taxes(The fees sorry) are way to high. Ouya team are you going to make this feature on the future, and when?
Developers what do you think about paypal payments?

Developers and Paypal
This is a public poll: others will see what you voted for.
There is an alternative that is available day 1, value cards are being sold at retail - I dunno if in Brazil specifically, but they are being sold elsewhere.
Dreamwriter/Piers: Correct me if I am wrong, but I am seeing two slightly different concerns here.
1: A new method for paying Developers from the sales of their products, which will be of extremely high interest to international developers such as myself and my partner.
2: Multiple methods for product purchasing through the OUYA store.
If I am correct, then yes you are correct in that there are already multiple methods for the purchasing of products, (PayPal as another customer purchasing option probably has more positives than negatives).
Currently for international developers we have two choices, the easy route and pay a large percentage of our profits as Tax to the US government or the hard and completely convoluted method without guaranteed results that can take months to setup.
The only real negative we have ever had with the model that OUYA has presented, has always been this; so if Piers is actually confirming that there will be an option for Developer Payments via PayPal, then Boo-Yaah!
I think paypal is essential for both customers and developers. Some countries, people just don't have/use credit cards, and paypal is an alternative most people trust
@Shush I hadn't thought of payment to developers at the time, but I think you're right that the OP was referencing this as well. I don't know he answer here, or if avoiding fees or taxes by using PayPay in this case is even legal. I'm no banker or tax agent :) I'll bring this up internal and see what others have to say.
I really want to lauch my games for ouya, because I like the Ouya idea.
But I also don't want the banks here to take a big part of my profit. I prefer that paypal take a small part of my profit and I don't trust much this banks, you have no idea, there are taxes (fees... I always confuse) here and there. I'm not trying to run from the IRS (imposto de renda in brazil), but from the abusive bank fees.
Please Piers try to convince them to accept paypal payments to developers.
The question of avoiding tax has not come into it with us.
Nobody avoids tax by accepting Paypal payments, especially "down under". Paypal payments have to go into a legitimate and linked bank account...and we have to jump through plenty of hoops just to open an account with a bank in Australia. Especially a business account. I don't know how other countries handle it, but I only have to walk in to see my accountant at the financial year's end and he knows pretty much to the cent how much I've earned. And I haven't even spoken to the guy all year. Our banks and the ATO are in bed with each other big time.
We are sitting on a product that we want to release. It's been hard enough work just to put it together and getting it to this stage without having to be potentially ham-strung by convoluted, long-winded and confusing international tax rules and regulations. We just want it to be easy. Paypal is easy.
I don't like paying tax any more than the next person but it's a fact of life, however, I certainly don't want to pay more than I have to in the hope that I should get it back later on down the line. I'd like to decide and choose the best method for me to accept payment for sales and how to legally minimise my tax obligations.
Piers: We're definitely not trying to get out of paying tax or avoid fees, what we're trying to do is not have to pay tax twice. Once to the Australian government which is a given and again to the US government using the current convoluted method for international developers.
Anything you could do to make this easier for us would be greatly appreciated.
The way this post was formed implied that the request was for PayPal as a means of paying developers their cut of the IAP's. That I don't care about (and to be fair, the challenges the OP stated are not relevant to my situation).
However, I think the option for customers to pay via PayPal is a really good idea.
That being said, my vote would swing the other way if lack of PayPal is a direct deterrent to good titles appearing on the system by developers who don't want to deal with the various fees and challenges around IBAN.
While I'm based out of the United States of America, paypal would be preferable indeed. It's secure, so Ouya wouldn't need to know my bank information, and it pools into the channel that I use for other sales- Take the Square Register app, for example.
PayPal is a ways off (how far I don't know, but it's not imminent), and primarily it would be for users paying devs. Once we start working on PayPal in general I'll update this thread with info pertaining to dev payments via PayPal :)
It would be neat to have the choice of selecting where you get paid. However, I'll probably just stick to using the bank account. Since I'll eventually have to transfer the money over to the bank account. So it'll be less of an hassle to just stick to the bank account method.
Edit : Yes I know I have the other choice selected, I miss-clicked and can't seem change it.

Am i the only one that has mentioned paypal fees so far? Surely this works for people outside of the USA. However, having ouya take 30 percent and then paypal taking another 2.5 percent (or whatever it is now) of what you have seems a bit over the top...

Paypal taking a small percentage is better than local banks taking up to $35 per transaction (depending on the arrangement between the local bank and the US bank). The US bank charges a fee (removes it from the transaction amount) and the local bank charges another fee (removing it from the transaction amount).

Right but if your dumb enough to use a big bank like bank of america or chase or wells fargo, which have repeatedly bent its customers over with no lube, then you deserve these fees....
credit unions my friend (if you live in the usa) work for you and dont nickel and dime you to death... They're built with the people in mind and are most are owned by the public... If you cant find one that works for you move on to the next one...
I wouldnt give any more of your money than you have to. Your choice though...
But seriously, Im just pointing this out here.. thats 30 percent from ouya, another few percent from paypal...
If i'm able to make money from my music in the Bandcamp store with only a Paypal account, then OUYA Devs AND customers should have the option to use Paypal on OUYA as well.
