Trying to install an update and it downloads then says UPDATING and fills a progress bar repeatedly forever. What does 'updating' actually entail?
We're working on a fix for that asap :)
If you navigate to the game's details through Discover, it should stop the loop

Tied that before you suggested it and it does stop, yes, but it never updates. Had to delete and redownload like before.

The unity package has been split into an open source repository on Github.

When quitting a game from its own quit option and letting the button pressed down, the OUYA games menu is displayed back, but the recently closed game is relaunched immediately - the menu acting with keyUp solely instead of keyDown/keyUp combo. The timing to not relaunch the game is difficult to get.

    Hey Piers, Nick:

I discovered a weird behavior in the firmware around the power-down/power-up from the console.  Maybe you're aware of it, maybe not.  Hopefully what I provide here is enough to allow you to recreate it.  It's not a show stopper by any means, but I think it's the kind of thing that might freak some customers out.

Anyway.. I have a monitor (like many televisions) that lets you switch between the various inputs on the back of it (HDMI, VGA, etc).

When I power down the OUYA from the console, that works fine, and I can switch to a different input context and it remains powered down.

But if I switch back to the HDMI context the OUYA is plugged into, the OUYA powers back up and sits at the "Power Off" dialog.  I was also able to get this to happen simply by powering down the OUYA from the console screen, pulling the HDMI plug from the cube, and then plugging it back in.

So it appears to be related to whatever "wake up" event that occurs when the console detects a change in voltage in the HDMI connection.

Just released 1.0.309 update on June 17th fixes the issue where you could get stuck in an update loop when downloading game/app updates.

Puzzl and Arctic, I'll check into both those issues.  If either of you have a logcat please PM me :)

We'll add a double check on our end eventually, but developers should also keep that in mind. The easiest fix is to only exit your game on key release instead of press. (UP instead of DOWN)

Puzzl and Arctic, both issues confirmed and bugged on our end.  Thanks.

I'm don't think we're hiring any UI/UX designers right now, but if you have feedback about the UI, definitely feel free to share :)

You're welcome.  Sorry I didn't have time to get the log cat to you.

You're welcome Piers. Nick: yes, but you'll need to push this in the guidelines, and this would be another thing for you guys to verify for the validation process. Better to expect the unexpected :)

Yeah, I've been having the same issue as arcticdog where the console doesn't actually go into a standby state and have taken to fully shutting down via the console's power button held for 5 seconds.

I dont know if this is a new issue from the new game install method (my ouya arrived after the update rolled out so i never saw the old system) but if you uninstall a game then try to reinstall it will fail to reinstall. The "download" button changes to "downloading..." the progess bar fills, then goes to "installing..." that bar instantly fills and it hangs there forever. Backing out the game doesnt show in "play" or in "apps" inside system settings. going back to the game in "discover" it has a "play" button, but the button doesnt launch the game.

Haven't seen that before- Which game was it? And did you have it installed before the update?

    @nick
I would love to share a few ideas with you regarding the UI design, but I would rather send over some design concepts so that you can see what I'm talking about regarding the UI design for OUYA. Just send me your contact info if interested. Thanks for the reply!
