I've tried to follow as closely as I can the documentation on using the emulator, but when my emulator launches it just shows a black screen and nothing happens. Any get it working and could share the settings they used?
Do you have HAXM installed? Are you using an intel x86 4.1 emulator? Do you have "use GPU host" enabled? What are you running on? I got mine working on both MacBook Air 2011 OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 and a i7 Intel PC with Windows 8.
Also, if you are not used to it, you should know that Android emulators always take a little while to start initially. It is black first, then has the Android logo, then finally you see the home screen. On subsequent boots it might then go faster.
