I'm in the early planning stages of making a game based around dreams. It will be similar to the dream emulator for the ps1, but instead of just being random it will be goal oriented with pleasant dreams and nightmares.
I need some dream ideas that aren't just my own so that I can make playable dreams out of them for the game. If you can remember some of your dreams and don't mind me using them, share them here. You will be included in the credits.
This sounds like an amazing idea! I'd love to help, and I'm an avid dreamer. Here's my question, what kind of dreams are you looking for? I usually have a wide range of dreams, I'm wondering what you think would fit the most.
I once had a nightmare where I woke up in a cornfield near an abandoned farmhouse and was stalked by a flaming scarecrow until it caught me and I was brutally murdered, if that helps.
Also, I once dreamed that I was on a track in the middle of a race, but it never ended. Ever. *Shudder*
On a more cheery note, I also once dreamed that I was at an amazing physically impossible water park right next to a train station.
Unfortunately, I revisited the place a few years later and the train chased me through the complex. ...I don't even know.
@AlwaysInDev Thanks! Im going for the kind of dreams that have some sort of goal or win loose situation, but most dreams can be altered to fit that though. example below :)
Maybe the first one could go like this: You wake up laying on the ground right outside the abandoned farmhouse. Its very cloudy and the sun is setting. Instinctively you go and search around the barn and find a can of oil, an oil lamp, a jug of water, and a lighter. then you go outside and hear rustling in the cornfield. It gets louder and louder until you see the flaming scarecrow chasing you. At this point it starts getting darker faster. you can use the lamp for light and the water to put out the scarecrow. as soon as you put him out, he falls to the ground and the screen fades into another level (a pleasant dream since you defeated the scarecrow). However, if you didn't go and explore the barn in time, the scarecrow will come and eventually catch you (sending you into another nightmare level).
Here's how the second one might work: your standing on the track at the starting line with a few other racers. a sound plays to start the race. as you are running you notice that everyone is going way faster than physically possible and leaves you behind running off and disappearing over the horizon. looking around you see no end to the track and for some reason you cant stop running. following you is a door knob floating directly above you. take hold of it and a door opens and sucks you out of there into what appears to be a portal. (sending you into a pleasant dream since you escaped) However if you never notice the doorknob above you, then you will eventually get tired and pass out (sending you into a nightmare since you failed to escape).
The last one could be something like this: You are at the top of a water-slide that is so tall it reaches into space. before you start sliding you hear a series of numbers echoing through space. then when you start sliding, you will have make a series of (fork in the road) left/right decisions. each side has a number and if you remembered the sequence you can make it down safely (gets faster as you reach the bottom). If you choose wrong you will fall, and right before you hit the ground, it will fade into the next dream. again, depending on if you pass/fail will determine the next dream type, pleasant or nightmare.
Those all seem fine to me--I was just trying to provide some of my strange experiences! I'm quite interested in this game, now. I take from those examples that it'll be similar to a surreal puzzle game?
I had a dream last night where me and a bunch of soldiers were riding in a school bus, and as we got off, then as the bus came to a stop we all filed out. There was another group of soldiers up on a hill by a plane with a nuclear missle tied to it. As we got there the plane flew off and bombed a train. you might be able to do something with that.

@Astroking112 Those are very interesting dreams!
