Unity's Android Basic license just went free.
You didn't remember the plot of the Doctor Who movie because there was none; Just a bunch of plot holes strung together.

Really?????? Well I can't find the part of the webpage that specifically says that, but I'll take your work. I think I might just use Unity for an upcoming project after the current one.
Question the paradigm you believe in

This is where they announced they were making it free.
And I verified yesterday - even though I have not purchased Android Basic, after downloading a Unity update I now have access to the Android export option.

You could use XNA and monogames api.  It's pretty easy to pick up and there's a lot of online help.

Did they ever fix the gamepad input? Last time I tried using MonoGame for some reason gamepad input was completely broken (it didn't even detect that the controller was plugged in), and several other people reported similar.
