Want your game included in upcoming OUYA article?

Hey everyone! As explained in my introduction post, I'm not only an early-adopting OUYA lover, but also owner of Phandroid.com and GameFans.com. I'm hoping to put together an article about some of the awesome OUYA developers out there along with information about the up-and-coming projects on which they're working. But of course, only want to share stuff with your permission!

Feel free to share information on your OUYA projects below (that can be used in a public article) and/or e-mail me with the subject "OUYA Dev" at [email protected]!

    Hello Rob,

We won't be publishing one game, but 7 games instead.

The middleware we use, BennuGD, lets our games be absolutely portable. The same code will work on Windows, Linux, MacOSX, iOS, Android, OUYA... And in homebrew: Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3...
    More info at: http://www.bennugd.org

Our games are already ported to Android, but most of them are arcade-like. There's no fun in playing with a virtual gamepad, and that's why are really excited about OUYA!

    - La pesadilla de Ripollés: Beat'em up, up to 4 players on the same console or online, featuring the city of Castellón, winner of 1st game-developing contest in Castellón (Spain)
    http://www.pixjuegos.com/?j=ripolles
    http://www.castello.es/noticias.php?cod=5859

    - PiX Bros: Mix remake of three classic great games: Tumble Pop, Snow Bros and Bubble Bobble. There are 3 characters, and each has the abilities of one game. They are compiting to see who is the best game. Up to 3 players at the same time. Winner of a portability prize in 2007
    http://www.pixjuegos.com/?j=pixbros

    - PiX Pang: Pang-like, with new balls, new mechanics, with 80 levels, 6 bosses, 2 game modes and up to 2 players.
    http://www.pixjuegos.com/?j=pixpang

    - Garnatron: Original shoot'em up, 5 challenging levels and up to 4 players.
    http://www.pixjuegos.com/?j=garnatron

    - PiX Frogger: Racing Frogger. One button game, up to 4 players in a keyboard. The objective: Get first or survive the most.
    http://www.pixjuegos.com/?j=pixfrogger

    - PiX Dash: Racing-platforming game, up to 4 players.

    - Eterno Retorno: Escape from a dungeon by getting weapons and fighting clones with the weapons you picked before. If you get massive destruction weapons, at next level your clone will have them (not published yet). It was created in 2 days, at the Global Game Jam 2012

Ps: Please excuse my bad grammar. I probably just wrote garbage.

I'm working on a 2D platformer inspired by Trine and The Lost Vikings. It will be called The Lost Heroes. My developer name (my company): Magory. I'm not sure if it will be ready before Ouya is available but I will try my best to get it do ne by then. Example graphics: http://wieza.iq.pl/aaa.png (the on screen buttons will be gone for Ouya of course, this is a version for Android tablets) - you will have 3 heroes (wizardress, knight and a troll) to control, the graphics is drawn with 1920x1080 in mind.

    Hi Rob,

This is Seth from Digital Iris. digitaliris.com Feel free to check out our site. Unfortunately, we've been so busy lately that it hasn't been updated with the OUYA material yet. Our casual games listed on the site will be on the OUYA as well. We're also working on our mech style shooter called Pod Gunner, slated for the OUYA launch. facebook.com/thepodgunner Hope that helps. We'll post more info as we get further along.

    Thanks,

    Hi Rob,

My name is Josh Siegl and I'm working on a Sim-City like 2D city building game called Politico, it can be found on Steam GreenLight for now, I have every intention to do a full port to the OUYA.

    Here it is: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93951222

What you're doing is great, I'll definitely shoot you an email, I'd love some early press!

    We're currently developing Retroformer.

    image

Retroformer is a completely customisable 2D puzzler/platformer with emphasis on importing your own levels using either a .png file or our own file format (which will be used for PC, likely not for OUYA). There's also a build in level editor, as well as around 60 built in levels.

We're planning on adding local multiplayer at some point in the future.

At the moment we're reconstructing a lot of the base generation code and rewriting our own 2D tools to make the game run a lot better and to make new features, modifications and balancing a lot easier.

We hit alpha a couple of months ago and hope to hit beta by around February.

    Hi Rob,

We're a small Australian indie team, Kactus Games. We are currently developing a story driven action RPG for Android called the Legacy of Barubash and we've just received our OUYA dev kit today and we're pretty excited.

Barubash is currently still in alpha and here is a screenshot of recent progress

We're bringing a version of our platformer game Roboto to Ouya, which reached into the top ten of the App Store on iOS a while back:

    image

    Here's a gameplay video:

    Our website: http://www.fenixfire.com

Roboto has always begged to be played with a controller, and we're thrilled to finally have a chance to do so with the Ouya.

Quick update: I'm working on compiling the current submissions into articles on GameFans.com, Phandroid.com, and OUYAboards.com over the next couple days. I'll be turning this into a daily opportunity so keep the submissions coming... details very soon!
  • RobJRobJ Posts: 18Member
Congrats to the first round of featured developers! Moving forward, everyone who submits their information will:

    (1) Have a thread on their game(s)/company created at OUYAboards.com
    (2) Potentially be featured in their own dedicated article at GameFans.com
    (3) Potentially be featured in an OUYA Games round-up article on Phandroid.com

The first "OUYA Games to Watch" Round-Up Article was just posted!
    http://phandroid.com/2013/01/22/ouya-launch-games/

In addition, we've published and scheduled the first batch of featured articles on GameFans:
    • January 17th: The Lost Heroes
    • January 17th: PiX Juegos
    • January 22nd: Aggro Tactics
    • January 22nd: SpaceRoads
    • January 23rd: Roboto
    • January 23rd: Politico
    • January 23rd: Legacy of Barubash
    • January 24th: Around The Rock Disc Golf
    • January 24th: Retroformer
    • January 25th: FLD 3D Lite
    • January 25th: Unnamed Space Game... "Space Dodger"
    • January 26th: Alien Patrol
    • January 26th: Dragon Maze
    • January 27th: Orbital Blaster
That officially catches us up on all requests made in this thread. There are still outstanding games/companies to cover that were submitted via E-Mail and I'll now be pro-actively hunting down game developers to feature. From activity on this official forum and threads like below on our unofficial fan forums I don't think we'll have any trouble finding games to feature:
    http://ouyaboards.com/ouya-games/102-ouya-gameplay-videos.html

Developers have an open invitation to post on this thread, E-Mail me directly, and/or visit our OUYA boards to share their game information, updates, beta APKs for testing/coverage, and whatever else!
