Bank accounts in countries outside of the U.S.

I couldn't find a related topic, but I was wondering how the developer bank account support was for developers outside of the U.S.. I noticed that the only information asked were "Bank Name", "Account Number" and "Routing Number". Banks in Europe don't follow the same model and use IBAN and SWIFT for bank and account identification. (I am not 100% sure, but I believe that U.S. banks also have SWIFT numbers.) As there don't seem to be any fields for that, does that mean that Ouya developers outside of the U.S. cannot sell in-app products? If no, what information needs to be entered then?

    I found the same problem, it's a little confusing.

    The Marketplace Agreement caters for all regions around the world (so they have thought about the rest of the world), but the bank account information only works for US bank accounts.  And no other payment options such as Paypal.  Neat.

    Paypal support would actually be great. It make a lot of things much easier.

    In Spain there are two important numbers, the IBAN and BIC. The BIC is a number shared by all customers of the bank. According to the website of my bank is used to facilitate the processing of international payments.

    The IBAN is a unique number that identifies a specific customer account anywhere in the world

    The IBAN has the following form: ES93 aaaa bbbb cc dddddddddd

                ES93 = Spanish Country Bank Code
                yyyy = Entity
                bbbb = Office
                cc = Control Digit
                dddddddddd = Account Number

    According to other places where I had to provide this data as the App Store I think what we are asking is this, but I find it odd that the IBAN not ask, because for international transfers is what usually ask.

    My assumption is:

                Bank Name: The bank name
                Account number: dddddddddd (10 digit)
                Routing number: aaaabbbb (8 digit) (Entity and Office togehter)

    Can anyone help me or provide more information? If I can not fill these data create In App Purchases and i need it for my game.

    --------------------------------------

    En España hay dos datos importantes, el IBAN y el BIC. El BIC es ún numero que comparten todos los clientes de dicho banco. Según la página web de mi banco se utiliza para facilitar el tratamiento de pagos internacionales.

    El IBAN es un número único que identifica la cuenta de un cliente concreto en cualquier lugar del mundo

    El IBAN tiene la siguiente forma : ES93 aaaa bbbb cc dddddddddd

                ES93 = Codigo de banco Español
                aaaa = Entidad
                bbbb = Oficina
                cc = Digito de control
                dddddddddd =  Numero de cuento

    Según otros sitios donde he tenido que proporcionar estos datos como el App Store creo que lo que nos están pidiendo es lo siguiente, pero me resulta raro que no pidan el IBAN, ya que para las transferencias internacionales es lo que suelen pedir.

    Mi suposición es la siguiente:

                Bank Name : The bank name
                Account number : dddddddddd (10 digit)
                Routing number : aaaabbbb (8 digit) (Entity and Office togehter)

    ¿Puede ayudarme alguién o aportar más información? Si no relleno estos datos no puedo crear In App Purchases y lo necesito para mi

    Thanks, Piers! I hope it will be done before March 28th. :)

    @Piers - what about this: http://forums.ouya.tv/discussion/903/tax-form - will ITIN or EIN be required?

  • PiersPiers Posts: 680Member
    Don't know, Magnesus.  Fairly sure we'll require those hoops to be jumped through only if the country you're in requires it, but don't quote me.

    OK, thanks.

    Quoted.  ;)

    It's an IRS requirement I believe, rather than a country requirement.

    We will probably remove this restriction temporarily today so folks aren't blocked, and expect a fix by mid/late this week.
  • greenbitegreenbite Posts: 18Member
    Thank you Piers. If you remove the restriction to create new product without the bank info then we can continue working with in app purchases and when the bank section will fixed we will fill the info.

    Piers, any chance you can explain the w8-ben form to foreigners? I live in South Africa, which means there is a tax treaty to take advantage of. I submitted my form without any SSN, EIN or ITIN because I have none of them. Am I still able to be accepted so we can begin purchase testing?

    Apologies for the off topic post.

    I passed along the question, unsure when I'll get an answer.  The blog below does a pretty good job explaining w8-ben in the meantime.

    I have submitted without the ITIN. Worst comes to worst and I need it for the exemption, could you guys just let us continue selling until we file an IRS tax return for our 30% back? AFAIK this is legal. It's just that acquiring an ITIN takes weeks, and we want to submit before the 28th.

    We put up a new bank payment info page that now takes SWIFT and IBAN numbers: https://devs.ouya.tv/developers/payment/edit

    Let me know if there are any issues!

    Thank @JonAbrams , but there are an error in the page because displays this information

     "International: Consult your bank to determine whether you need to give a SWIFT or IBAN to receive payments."

    In fact for an internacional transaction you need both numbers. SWIFT is a number shared by all customers of the bank. According to the website of my bank is used to facilitate the processing of international payments.

    The IBAN is a unique number that identifies a specific customer account anywhere in the world.

    So, can we put this two numbers at the same time in the Bank form?

    Thank you for all.

    As i think our SWIFT is like your ROUTING NUMBER, and our IBAN is like your ACCOUNT.

    How is the progress on tax forms? I submitted mine ages ago and still no confirmation...

    The tax forms are being handled manually. It will take a while as we're still getting our process in place. It shouldn't block you from publishing though.

    The IBAN is not required in all countries (IBAN is not used in Australia or the USA), but for many countries it is mandatory.  I would suggest that the IBAN goes in the Account Number field and the SWIFT/BIC code in the SWIFT field.

    @JonAbrams, it would be good to get that cleared up in the Payment Info page.  Here's a good page that explains IBAN, BIC and SWIFT quite well.
