I disagree, anyone should be able to make whatever game they want. XBLIG has actually gotten really good at game discovery lately with the newest dashboard updates. Right on the first page of the "Games" tab on the dashboard there are several "You may also like..." similar to the player's favorite games.
Seems like an ideal solution... the guy who plays JRPGs gets recommended more JRPGs, and the guy who plays anime dating sims gets recommended more anime dating sims. Everyone is happy, the players are happy because they are getting pointed at games that are similar to their interests, and developers are happy because their games are getting exposed to gamers in their niche.
If there is gonna be any "content curating", it should just be games with copyright/trademark infringement, or games/apps that try to steal PII, etc. Please don't make this into yet another walled garden :P
