Im in the final stages of completing my first game and releasing on OUYA, then iOS. Ive been working on the game for about a year now. Probably could have finished sooner, but with a full time job, wife and baby I really only get a couple of hours a night during the week to work on the game. Ive been developing the game in Unity using amazing 2D framework Futile made by Matt Rix. The game is in the ballpark of Galaxian, Galaga, and Space Invaders. There are 50 levels of increasing difficulty. There are also 5 boss battles.
Ive finished all the purchasing code, leader boards, controller support for gameplay and menus.
Things I have left:
1. Finish sound effects
2. Finish adding the music, etc. Ive got some great songs being done by Joel Alcock
Below is a couple of screenshots and a video I created using a gopro camera, so sorry for the fisheye effect and lack of color quality on the video. What it does capture is the very consistent 60fps ;)
Looks really nice, will definitely try this! But...I want twin-ships ala Galaga. Or even just pineapples i rescue from the aliens that I can attach to the side of ship as shields. :)
Great game. Bought it, played it for a while this weekend. Just made #8 on the leaderboard (AutoKAD). Only one thing bugged me, not being able to restart the game from the "game over" screen. Other than that, very nicely done.

Thanks for the purchase! I've also thought about that as well. I quick retry button from the game over screen would be much better instead of having to go back to the title screen. There will be an update soon to fix some minor issues and I think Ill add your suggestions as well.
I just bought this game with the 1st time play discount of $1.99. When I double tap the OUYA sink button, to exit the game, it still says "Purchase $3.99".
I also have 1 suggestion. You should allow the user to make the $1.99 purchase either the 1st or 2nd time I play the game. I didn't have any money in my account the 1st time and I had to pause, run to the store, and pick up a $5 OUYA card.
You are right, thats probably a good idea. So you got the game at 1.99 correct? Are you saying even after you have exited the game and go back, when you double tap, the system menu still shows 3.99? We just discovered this issue earlier today...
Yeah. It was there the 1st time after paying, when I went to exit. It was also there after reloading and then exiting again. Unfortunately I'm always fighting for TV usage here so I can't check again until late tonight. If I find the behavior stops I'll post back, otherwise it is safe to assume it is still doing it.
Sorry for the late reply. I have loaded up the game and I no longer see the buy option. Perhaps I was mistaken. I had limited access to the TV at that point and was playing with my OUYA only once every few weeks. I am sorry if my January 17th comments were incorrect.
