Internet issues.

I'm having general issues connecting my Ouya to the internet. I usually run it thru Ethernet by sharing the internet from my Mac. I've never had issues with this and it worked fine. Today, it stopped working - and even if I can get "Ethernet" to show up in network options, if I select it, the Ouya freezes for about 4 seconds and then does nothing.

I tried reverting back to WiFi and it won't connect to the WiFi either - it used to be able to.

It also cannot connect to my iPhone's hotspot. Did it break my interwebs? Is there something I can try other than resetting the entire console? I have turned it off and on many times. This did not fix it.

Nevermind... After three tried the Hotspot connected and then suddenly all the other connections are working.

I have no idea what went wrong. At least it's working now.

Alright. Issues are back. Can't seem to solve them this time. Same issues as before.

EDIT: It definitely has something to do with having Ethernet plugged in.

Could be a multitude of things... First of check the basics... im assuming all your devices are working with your internet connection aside from the ouya? How many devices are using your wifi? Router been flakey lately?

Im not saying the ouya isnt at fault here, but check what your connecting it to first and rule that out. Maybe a modem reset, router reset, check router config.

Ive noticed that a router of mine was doing similar stuff (although not with the ouya) and it ended up being the router on its way out and taking a dump. I had intermittent connections, slow connections, only certain things were able to connect randomly ect ect. If its belkin brand, throw it in the nearest trash-can as fast as you can :)

The Router hasn't acted up recently. It's a pretty new router (well, about a year old) and seems to work pretty well.

At any given time, there are ~3 cell phones, 1-3 laptops, and an iPad that could be connected. And the Ouya.

Its really hard to say... Might try rebooting the router. Possibility something isnt right (maybe not auto assigning local ip via the router)

Depending on the router, it could be maxed out as far as supported the max simultaneous connections it can work with. Ive seen this issue before on a router of my own.

Last case, id try doing a factory reset on the ouya. Hopefully then you get a net connection and you can re-install updates and continue on like nothing happened...

Sounds like a router issue though. All of the devices are tested before they leave the factory and i doubt they'd ship a bunch of duds... One could slip through the cracks im sure but they q/a this stuff before they ship it.

Like i said though, check the router and try another device (not one of the 3 laptops or 3 cell phones or ipad or the ouya) and see if you get the same issue... if so, then your router could be to blame..
If not try the factory reset and hope all is well. Otherwise give ouya support a shout and hopefully they come up with something for you to try.

Best of luck. Hopefully your gaming soon!!
