More than four controllers

I read there is a limit of maximum four controllers connected. Why is that? Any chance it will be changed?

I wanted to make a game with support for six players locally...

Maybe there is a limit to the Bluetooth controllers, but I haven't run into a limit with wired Xbox 360 controllers with also 4 Bluetooth OUYA controllers connected at the same time. I'm pretty sure we had eight connected at once.

Ah, good to know. So it won't be totally in vain to add support for more than four then.

@freso You can go for more than 4 controllers. 6 through bluetooth is ok.

@freso : No problem. They said four as their interface allows for four max atm. But you can go beyond, and even mix controller brands. Have a look at http://forums.ouya.tv/discussion/638/detecting-x360-controllers/p1 for more infos.
