It appears second screen gaming is going to grab hold of the living room. I was wondering if anyone has started working on a way for the WikiPad and Ouya to interact. Seems logical, both devices run on the same android level, etc... This would give us devs more control options and actually gives the Ouya a fighting chance for the future. Soon we will see a 3DS revision that controls the Wii U, and you can bet that the Vita will double as a controller on the PS4. Second screen gameplay is the future.

This is just a semi-coherent list of things that happened on my first experience using the ouya dev kit. Overall the experience is nice, I am just listing things in case they can be fixed.

didnt know how to turn it on, I thought the black rubber was the top. eventually found the button on the bottom, but its not obvious that its a button

initially I plugged in the ethernet cord because I didnt know the ouya supported wifi. im very glad it supports wifi! but during the initial setup it tried to access the internet and failed even with the ethernet cable plugged in. I then went to the wifi settings to put in my wifi password. while on that screen I unplugged the ethernet cord just to make sure it wasn't going to be used. somehow in disconnecting the ethernet cord the ouya turned off -- either due to the ouya not liking hot-unplugging or because I knocked the power plug, but the power plug seemed ok to me. anyway it restarted fine and I put in my wifi settings and then the ouya was able to contact the internet.

controller: I feel dumb but I didn't know which way to put the battery in, I guessed that negative touches the spring and I was right. Markings inside the controller would help

I held down the ouya button on the controller to pair it with the ouya and after a second or so it started blinking. There was no visual indication other than the blinking controller that the pairing worked. It would be nice if something popped up on the screen. Anyway the controller works fine.

the controller does not work with input fields. I can move between input text fields but I can't use the controller to type keys on the onscreen keyboard.

so I have to use the mouse to type keys. well I guess I could use a real keyboard but then I would lose mouse support. Its annoying to have to choose between using a mouse and using a keyboard. A friend suggested getting a usb hub so I will look into that. Or I guess I can try to get a bluetooth mouse/keyboard.

it is very tedious to use the mouse to type stuff with the on screen keyboard.

at the new user/existing user screen I didn't realize I was supposed to use my developer.ouya.tv user. I spent however many minutes typing in a username/email/password/confirm and then I realized I was supposed to use my developer name when it said the email I inputted was already taken.
