Lately I've come up upon a couple issues that make these forums annoying to use, so I figured I'd make a thread on improvements that could be made to the forums.

Worst of all to me are the super-annoying auto-saved drafts. Many times I'll have a thought and start typing a response to a thread, then realize it's a stupid thought, or non-productive, or was already answered or something. But the draft has been saved without my pressing the Save Draft button, so every time I go back to that thread, my response is sitting there. And if I quoted someone in that draft, there seems to be no way at all to ever remove the quote-space. From what I can tell there is no way to ever delete a draft without posting to a thread.

Speaking of which, those quote spaces don't seem to work very well, they seem too automatic, often I'll quote someone or do a double quote, and then go in and edit the quotes so only the pertinent things I'm replying to are mentioned, but one quote will start leaking into another, or leave the quote-box. And if I want to quote someone from outside these forums, there doesn't seem to be that ability (there is no "quote" button in the button list).

And something I think is rather important to a dev-support forums, source code - there is no built-in method for posting formatted code! I'm still trying to find a good way to use the direct HTML to do it, but really we shouldn't ever have to touch HTML on a message board these days.

I'm not saying there should be an entire software swap, but if there ever is one, I really like forums using vBulletin (like NeoGAF).

General mobile owners are happy with simple games and apps, and avid owners are happy to buy a new device every 1-2 years. Console owners want to play games without the headache of wether the game will run well or not on their devices, while the avid graphics-hungry gamers are already flocked on the PC. On top of that, this puts the ouya on a similar TCO of big consoles. In 4 years that'll be $400, already surpassing the launch cost of the Wii U.

Not to mention the possibility of a Duke Nukem Forever effect, with developers trying to push the platform by making graphically impressive games having to delay the game's launch several times because they need to keep updating the game for the newer hardware.

There are plenty of telco / carrier solutions for this kind of thing, so it'd just be a case of integrating it with OUYA's systems

This would let people without credit cards or paypal, and no access to a shop to buy top up cards, to easily buy stuff on the OUYA store.

It would be really cool if there was a section of the store that had only games that were approved for children

Ideally, parental controls would not only let parents lock the store to just the Children-approved area, but stop games already downloaded that aren't suitable for kids being played.

An extra added bonus would be if parents could set a "pocket money" allowance for kids to spend on IAP, after which they can't buy any more

Probably not a priority, but would be sweet if this could be done at some point

So i was wondering, have the Ouya devs done anything drastic to the OS to make it hide a bit more when playing a game? is it planned?

Maybe to stop background processes while in game, or anything that might eat away at any of the systems resources, make it more of a bare bones system and run the game on top, and then when you exit the game, reload/continue anything that was previously running?

This type of thing would make it more of a "console" than a run of the mill android device and really make it shine in its own right.

Any thoughts?

We all know our new born baby console that we love so much since its first appearance on July of 2012. the OUYA

since then time passed and a new android game console made its appearance calling it self the GAME STICK

Processor - Amlogic 8726-MX

Memory - 1GB DDR3 / 8GB FLASH / Micro SD Card Slot

Content Download Manager w/ cloud storage for games.

WiFi - 802.11 b/g/n

Bluetooth - LE 4.0

O/S - Android Jelly Bean

Controller - Bluetooth, 3 mode controller: gamepad, mouse and keyboard with support for up to 4 controllers.

Full 1080p HD video decoding

Support for XBMC & DLNA from Sept via optional firmware update.

Support for iOS and Android mobile devices to be used as controllers

Having similar specs to the OUYA as shown above. except for the micro SD slot and that the Processor Tegra3 and not even quad core. the GAME STICK cost about 80$. but in my opinion this device is just another lame excuse of an android stick device and not a pure physical console like the OUYA. making this device not even a competition at all.

Early this year the Project SHIELD was shown being the first Tegra4 device ever made and the first to ever have the cloud mobile gaming partnership with STEAM.

Something really awesome because its all built in with pure android with a NVIDIA GRID special app button that throws in lots of features. this is a real competitor for OUYA since it lets you play your PC games on it using the cloud. basically its like the Wii U controller, but android. A device that lets you play and see your pc games on it. but hey NVIDIA has lots of cash and employees to make this happen. OUYA is doing not good because they're doing GREAT as an Indie Company :D

there's not enough information of this device what so ever. only that runs a Tegra4 Processor, have mini HDMI port up to 1080p, built in speackers, rechargeable batteries and Jelly Bean OS apart from what is shown.

not so long ago it was announced the VALVE STEAM BOX made by Xi3

This little box you guys see here is a device that will let you play games from STEAM connected directly on your HDTV without the need of another device such as the PC. all you need is the gamepad and that's all. this device doesn't have spec information but apparently their making this box to be upgrade-able. I think this must be a powerful device and I don't doubt that this is also a threat to game consoles such as XBOX and PS. this device is mostly targeting the BIG 3 and not so much to OUYA

today (FEB 13, 2013) I found out about a new android base device called NGEES

A9 dual-core processor

quad-core GPU

1 GB RAM

8/16/32 GB of internal flash storage

WiFi 802.11 b/g/n

Mini HDMI Port (video and audio output), TV connection, 1080p Full HD support

1xMini USB,1x USB 2.0 support

Bluetooth

Keyboard/Mouse/ Wirelless game controllers via external USB - bluetooth supported

Skype camera supported

XBMC support

Screen streaming from mobile phone support

this little device has the same specs than the OUYA, but with buying options

8gb cost 99$

16gb cost 140$

32gb cost 160$ and comes with a Wii like controller that lets you use it the same way as the Wiimote

the NGEES doesn't support Micro SD either and as you can see it supports an external camera for skype. but I really don't know what camera or how to get it. I was looking at their video and when plugged in the box it looks like a tablet just like the other android stick devices out there. the developers say that this is an all Media device that fits on your pocket and showed not only games, but video chat, movies, music and more stuff. I really don't see much use with this thing since its better using a normal stick device like the PocketTV. and well this device is not actually a competition for OUYA but I just wanted to show you guys about this stuff.

I want to know what you guys think about all this new devices coming to take OUYA on. I mean most of the devices are almost same price or similar spec with a different physical form.
