Hey everyone, I'm Jake from Hypercane Studios, I'm the 3d artist for our small indie company. I have finally wrapped up the major stuff I needed to get done before Rage Runner launches on OUYA. Today I turn my attention to the community looking for any, and all feedback on our level editor.

Over the next week I will be gathering feedback from the community of 10 different forums on what types of obstacles you would like in our level editor. After that week of gathering feedback ill take the top obstacle ideas, and run a poll for everyone to vote on. Then I'll take the top polled obstacles and get them ready for when the game goes live. Below are some basic things to keep in mind when giving us feedback:

1. We are looking for what you yourself would want at your finger tips when designing a level in our

editor.(keep in mind we have the basic stuff like square boxes, rectangles etc....)

2. We are looking for more animation obstacle ideas,(example, spikes closing and opening.)

3. If you have texture ideas for the obstacle you suggest, please leave that feedback also.

4. I plan on doing at least 5 new obstacles for this, but if they are simple enough possibly more.

5. Anything is possible!

Here's a example of a obstacle request I received last week ,they wanted a air duct type of obstacle that people could fly into.

Link to video of how the level editor works below

We are also on the OUYA Store for testing right now!

Just let me know and I will test your game on my OUYA.

In case you are curious, I did not submit a game to the CREATE but I do intend to sell my own games when OUYA launch. I just need more time before I can share something/anything with you. If you've got a devkit and a buddy, try it out! It's still really early, but it's about 4x as good as my original OUYACreate entry (unfortunately, haha).

It's a 1v1 game where each player controls a pair of guys at the same time, one with each thumbstick.

There are four weapons to choose from and each one plays slightly differently in controls and strategy. I've got a nice tutorial on my list of things to do along with moving from splitscreen to single overhead cam (to allow for bigger maps), and I'll be improving it over time. I'm also planning on adding in online multiplayer, seeing how there are going to be tons of people with an OUYA and only one controller.

If you try it out, let me know what you think! This is still a prototype, but it's definitely moving along. :)

I created this in Unity and there were some bugs concerning inputs from multiple controllers canceling each other out that I couldn't fix in time for submission... I'm fairly certain it's an issue in the current Unity package for OUYA, but it's pretty fun for two folks regardless. I left 4 player support in there even though I couldn't test it; hopefully that's functional enough to be fun, too!

I spent 10 days (+1 for the title screen and making the video :) ) making this game and it was a really fun experience!
Hi Everyone,

I am pleased to announce the upcoming Ouya title "Murder Dollz: Home For Demented Toys", a puzzle-platform game in the style of the classic game Lost Vikings, or more recently, Trine. We got a lot done in 10 days, and are pleased with the resulting levels. We still have a ways to go on animation, and need more detail in our Background art, and there are a few bugs... But, the game is playable and even multiplayer is functional.

We have 10 levels so far, including four tutorial levels and two designed to be REALLY hard. If you want to try the game, and have an Ouya of your own, just post a reply to the video on youtube, then I'll send you a copy of the demo APK.

Thanks for your Support!
-Fat Cat Gameworks

Fire Hoop Racer is an idea inspired by my kids. It's got a very physics / sandboxish feel to it. The idea is for each level you need to sail through each hoop lit on fire and collect every coin. The prototype is a splitscreen 2-player game with two maps and two character classes, Officer (pistoleer) and Rifleman (3-shot burst). I almost got a rocket launcher guy in there too, but ran outta time.

The game is a pretty traditional top-down multiplayer shooter except for the fact that it's totally disorienting in a really fun way. :)

Here's a quick "trailer" I cut in the last hours of the Create Jam:

And here's an APK to try out if you're so inclined: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ga6jm0zpd5sfnit/TwoHandoCommando.apk

I built the prototype solo with Unity Pro and a bunch of asset store tools. The maps were made with ProBuilder, GUI with NGUI, some basic game state machines with Playmaker, created character models and animations from scratch in Blender, and created some prototype SFX with cFXR. All-in-all, it went about as smoothly as I've ever had a prototype go, and it's awesome to play it on the bigscreen with an OUYA!
