Hi!

Here are a couple of screenshots and YouTube videos of a beta build (so not final quality) of our upcoming dogfight-multiplayer-space shooter game "Multispace". The basic mechanics are much like in good old Gravity Force 2, XPilot, Turboraketti II, Assault Wing, but we've put more emphasis on physics engine integration and usage. Multispace also has one special feature that will make the game unique inside its genre, but we'll announce that when the game goes live.

Anyway, here's the main feature list:

* Destructible terrain
* Free to play!
* Realistic physics with PhysX
* 2-4 player local multiplayer on the same device: split screen - got four Ouya controllers? :)
* 2-8 player LAN / Internet play with match making

I'll post more videos and pictures here later with footage of some of the features and weapons not seen in these shots...

Cheers,
Ville / Kanki Bros

http://www.kankibros.com

YouTube Video 1: http://youtu.be/Q4LMxfNbh70

YouTube Video 2: http://youtu.be/6z_4jxVk1rU

Intended to be more of a casual experience sprinkled with humor and wacky randomness, it is mainly a test for us, before we spend time devoted to the more serious ideas we have.
So, I'm curious before we get too far into it, is there an audience for something like this? And, if there is any help that could be offered, we'd be very grateful. I currently have a proficient knowledge of JavaScript, yet I haven't seen much talk about it on these forums, leading me to wonder if it's suitable for development on the OUYA.

Thanks in advance for any info you give, and I promise that we'll show some more of the game once we have something worth showing!

Hi guys! I would like to get your feedback on what I've been working on! Currently it has no title, no story line, and it is pretty much just an engine at this point. Currently it uses graphics from the pokemon games for testing while I find a gfx person but that will change at release date.
Users will be able to make their own graphics for the game, upload them, and sell them in the game(they get 40% from sale, other 60% is divided between the team(as of right now it is just me)

Users will also be able to have/make their own worlds and servers with challenges for people to try. I might make the server open source for people to make custom scripts and such but that will be decided later. But aside from the main storyline that the game will follow, I want people to be given a chance at writing storylines because there is a lot of undiscovered talent out there and who know? We just might find one :)

Controls:
dpad - move
left analog - move camera
r1 - show grid
U,A - switch character model. Yes, I know, some are naked (I have to add armor/clothing)
(shitty)Touchscreen controls for android phones and tablets without controllers and at android 4.1.1 or above

Anyways.... I have a demo available and the inner workings of my server up... so I may as well let people demo it :)
Download the apk at http://mattlangdev.com/rpg/rpg.apk
And you can see all the world data and tilesets that I have at http://mattlangdev.com/rpg/
It's very basic but yeah.... thats it!

Let me know what you think!!

Hello everyone.

My name is Josh Siegl and this thread is being stemmed from another thread located here: http://forums.ouya.tv/discussion/406/community-welcome-to-ouya-game#latest

@JamesS237 suggested that we collaborate on one big community game. While this is always a tantalizing idea, large scale online collaborations very rarely work. I've been the lead on quite a few teams that i've met online and every single one of them has failed. People either stop communicating, don't want to do the work, or never get started in the first place. As a team lead it is my job to motivate and inspire people to do their best work, it's my job to bring people together and keep them involved. I failed in the past, and I take full responsibility for it.

I would like to start anew with this fledgling community, i'm not a failure and I know that the developers here want to succeed as well. Therefore i'm offering to be the team leader on a little project.

The Mini Indie Bundle.

My idea which was started in @JamesS237 thread is one in which we all work together to create a small bundle. Each developer submits a small mini game (with an emphasis on the OUYA's unique features, if possible) which will be packaged together into the Mini Indie Bundle. Here is my original post:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mini Indie Bundle:

Developers submit mini games (with an emphasis on the uniqueness of the OUYA if possible) to a team lead (more on this at the bottom). Mini games MUST be in pure java (we're talking something small here, no big licensed engines or copy-righted source code). Developers will have their studio/handle listed before the game starts, as well as the box art for any other game that they decide to put on the network.

Payment:

none. If we decide to charge for the bundle all proceeds will go to a charity, otherwise the game will be free. Developers will be paid in recognition for their other contributions to the OUYA gaming system (see description above)

Team Lead:

I can do it. @JamesS237 I would love some help. please email me at joshsiegl@gmail.com

this is crucial, I have to see how much support I get through the quantity of emails that I receive. I can put together a small website and an official rule set if there is enough support.

About me:

My name is Josh Siegl, I'm currently going to school for Computer Science. I'm currently working on a game called Politico for the OUYA and various other platforms.

Experience: I've been the team lead for other online gaming collaborations, unfortunately most of these things tend to fall apart, therefore I have nothing to show for it. That's why as part of the official rules, I'm going to need a phone number and a Skype account so that we can stay in touch, I'll expect weekly conference calls at your designated time.

if you're interested please email me: joshsiegl@gmail.com (again this is VERY important)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, based upon that idea, I've started at thread to see what type of support I can drum up.

I want to make this thing free. I'll credit everyone fairly. I'm just offering my support as a team lead.

I can put together a sleek user interface and package everything up nicely.

Let's do this.

joshsiegl@gmail.com

Hi, everyone :)

Update: Here is JSIDD Code Factory O 0.0.1 Gameplay video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SI5voFMMNx0

About JSIDD Code Factory O

I've had the concept in my head since the CREATE contest but hadnt learn enough to g'it done back then. So when I saw the extra promotion offered to dev backer "get your game name printed on the retail box if you submit before March 28th," I was like huh, yeah need to do this. But then I got busy with school so yeah, I ended up writing "JSIDD Code Factory O 0.0.1" in about 4 days using some drawing code I had made back in the CREATE days.

The game doesn't look like much right much, and there are many more versions to come, but it actually has a fully functional game mode, called: MAKE OUYA CODE.

The game is played using D-PAD and like an old electronic handheld game. One press, one input, so it does not matter how long you press the input the effect is always the same.

It controls as follow:

LEFT/RIGHT D-PAD move the player

Moving the player under a letter at the right time moves it to the moving belt below.

UP/DOWN D-PAD swaps letters adjacent to one another on the belt below. UP swaps the letter that is underneath the player with the letter on the right, while DOWN swaps the letter that is underneath the player with the letter on the left.

You score by feeding the OUYA code one letter at time to the white square (pc). Blank letters do not break the sequence, but be careful not to overwrite letter by moving your player as a letter is dropping on the next player position. Also pay attention to how the letters are actually fed. The order is important.

So if fellow devs and/or anyone else are interested in trying it, please let me know what you think and more importantly what score you got here. Next version coming soon!
